This week has been a mess. There's about 4 inches of snow on the ground (which is only a big deal because they said we'd get 9-11 inches). Tuesday's run was cut short at 6 miles. We were about 1 1/2 away from our cars when the 54 degree day started turning ugly. I suggested we turn around and head back and add on in the park...as soon as we turned around the 40 mph gusting winds and sheets of rain hit. (and the lightening) Within 30 seconds the temp drop 20 degrees and the rain turned to sleet and then to snow by the time I got to my car. I jumped into a mile in the ISU open on Wednesday then ran 10 after that (ow and I officially hate the mile...and indoor tracks). My miles will end up OK for the week but only because I'm running a 15K tomorrow and a then coming back and running 15 miles on Sunday but it was been a mess. The race will be more of a workout given the 7 inchs of snow on the ground in Charleston.... I'll keep you posted.
The only good news is that it's finally going to warm up this week. I'm tired of running in the snow. I can only imagine how bad it is for those on the East Coast that got all that snow. I really feel for you. I've got a big 60K coming up in a few weeks and I'm still on my way back from the IT Band injury so any set back is a mountain instead of a mole hill. All you runners out there, best wishes over the next month or so, stay safe and stay warm. If you know of any great races let me know about it. Next up is the Land Between the Lakes 60K March 10th.
