Well this week Seattle was named the smartest city in the US and I think we are trying to be more like them (in rainfall at least). I'm an odd person...I like rain...just not when its 34 degrees out. It has rained everyday for the last week and outside of yesterday it hasn't been above 40.
Some of the other top 10...Austin TX, San Diego CA, Portland OR, Cleveland OH, Lexington KY, San Francisco CA, Raleigh NC, Minneapolis MN, and Atlanta GA. Yeah can you believe it a city in Kentucky...(big medical town but I love the Kentucky joke)
Saturday was a great workout though. I did a 6 mile tempo with Josh in 32:48. The best part is that it felt really comfortable at that pace. I'm staying at the 70 mile training level so my legs are alot fresher on workout days. Really after today I'll be working out with ISU guys again for the next few weeks until they go back to school in January. Trying to get a team together for the Huff (Huntington Ultra Frigid Fifty) on December 29th but I've been playing phone tag with my friend that is in grad school in Bolder. I'd like for him to be on the team but I don't know how long he'll be in town over Christmas.
Hope the Christmas Shopping is going well and the Hanuka festivities too for those who are Jewish. Stay warm. Be safe.
Seven pounds is the amount of weight the average American gains between Thanksgiving and New Years. So even it's cold and dark (and it is this time of year) make yourself get out the door. My total mileage is down right now but it's just because I'm shifting training gears for the next few months. My goal is to break 15:00 again for 5K. It's been 6 years since I last did it sooooo we'll see. Lilo is having a little post-marathon recovery. I took her with us to my parents for Thanksgiving. My parents live on a 85 acre "farm". Which in and of itself that might seem like the problem... it was not. My parents have a springer/ lab mix. Cody can jump into the back of my dads truck... with the tail gate UP. We'll say it would be like me moving to Kenya for a training weekend. So Lilo has been in a lump on the floor since we got home. Funny how all the soarness seems to go away anytime I have food!?! Anyway, I hope everyones Thanksgiving was great and remember it's easier to get out the door now and keep the 7 off then get it back off after New Years. (SO much easier said than done)
